Grantmaking

The Black Hills Area Community Foundation awards grants to community organizations to help improve the quality of life of the people throughout the Black Hills. In FY 2009, BHACF distributed $519,687 to charitable organizations and for scholarships with Arts & Culture agencies receiving 10%; Social Services organizations 48%; Education and Scholarships 21% and a wide variety of causes receiving 21% of the grants. In addition, BHACF serves as fiscal sponsor for 18 projects in 11 different communities in the area.
