Scholarships

The Black Hills Area Community Foundation invests in the community's future by providing financial support through scholarships to deserving students. These funds provide support for individuals pursuing training or educational opportunities. Scholarships available for students include the Arete Morsching Scholarship, the DaCoda Cultural Affairs Scholarship, the South Dakota Engineering Society Scholarship and the Rapid City Foundation Originating Fund Scholarships.  Newton Family

Harold and George “Elbert” Newton Memorial Music Scholarship The Newton Family offers a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior of the Spearfish SD High School band, choir or other music program.
Applications must be received in the Counseling Office at Spearfish H.S. by 4:00 p.m. April 19, 2013
Maske Yamni Scholarship The Maske Yamni Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior in the Rapid City Area Schools School District. Applicants must be of Native American descent. Please review the guidelines and application form for more information.
Applications must be postmarked by April 10, 2013 or received in the BHACF office at 825 St. Joseph St., 3rd floor, Rapid City, SD by 5:00 p.m. on April 11, 2013
Arete Scholarship
STM
The Arete Morsching STM scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from St. Thomas More High School. Please review the guidelines and application form for more information.
Applications must be postmarked by March 28, 2013 or received in the BHACF office at 825 St. Joseph St., 3rd floor, Rapid City, SD by noon. on March 29, 2013
Sarah Stevens Memorial Scholarship To provide a $500 scholarship to a cum laude female graduate of Stevens High School who will study counseling or medicine.

South Dakota Engineering Society Scholarship To provide scholarships for engineering students.

Rapid City Foundation Scholarship The Rapid City Foundation Scholarship Applicants must be a resident of the Rapid City area and either a graduating senior in a Rapid City area high school pursuing further education in Fall 2013; or has lived in the Rapid City area for the past twelve months and will be enrolled in the Fall 2013 as a student in a Rapid City area post-secondary educational institution. Please review the guidelines and application form for more information.
Applications must be postmarked by May 15, 2013 or received at the Rapid City Chamber of Commerce.
