2016 IN REVIEW
The visibility of our Black Hills Area Community Foundation has grown in multiple and significant ways this year: Our new office location on a prominent corner in downtown Rapid City, thirteen nonprofits newly partnered with us, twenty-one nonprofits received grants from both our competitive grants and our Black Hills by Choice giving circle, and our board has taken steps to ensure the fiscal responsibility commensurate with our asset growth.
We Are HOPE in the Black HillsHOPE is defined as ‘a feeling of expectation and desire.’ The Black Hills Area Community Foundation was launched in 2006 and as we move into 2016, we are filled with HOPE and expectations as we grow and enter a new chapter of our history. We have a new Executive Director, Liz Hamburg, a dynamic Board that includes new members as well as recommitted past Board members. As you read the cover story of our donors Rob and Debbie Mudge, the story of our new endowment partner, the HOPE Center, and the excitement and expectations of Black Hills by Choice giving circles, we HOPE that you will share our excitement as we work to expand our presence and impact throughout the region.
